Sciatica refers to the pain along the course of sciatic nerve which branches from the lower back down to buttocks and legs. The pain originates due inflammation or compression of the sciatic nerve.
The most peculiar symptom of Sciatica is pain that starts from the lower back radiating to buttocks and legs. The pain may be mild aching to sharp, shooting, excruciating pain.
